In Elder Scrolls Online, gaining skill points is one of the primary ways for making your character stronger. Each active ability requires 2 skill points to fully unlock (one skill point to unlock and one to morph), while passive skills may require anywhere from 1-3 skill points to fully unlock.

Given that players can access abilities from three skill trees for their class, six skill trees for weapons, and many other extraneous skill trees for abilities and passives, players can easily go through a hundred skill points and still want more.

How to Earn Skill Points in Elder Scrolls Online
While you can reset your skill points, there are so many great skills and crafts in ESO that players will always be looking for more skill points. Fortunately, there are options in the game that can help you earn a virtually unlimited supply of skill points, which I will cover below:

Leveling Up
Players will earn one skill point with every level. As a result, players will be able to earn 50 skill points on their way to level 50. However, leveling alone will not provide you with enough skill points to get the skills you want in ESO. In fact, you can earn more skill points through other means than you can from leveling.

Questing & Content
So far during my ESO journey, I have earned by far the most skill points from questing and completing in-game content. It seems like at the end of every major questline, you earn a skill point. I also seemed to earn skill points by increasing my PvP rank. The more main story, world, and guild quests you complete and the more PvP you participate in, the more skill points you earn.

Skyshards
Skyshards are hidden items that exist around the game world in static spots. Each time you find one, you can interact with it to absorb it. Skyshards are a one time use – they do not respawn. Every time you absorb three Skyshards, you get a bonus skill point.

In truth, while Skyshards may elude you if you do not know where to look, all you need is to keep your eyes open as you complete quests and you will run into a lot of them. There are two things that make finding Skyshards really easy:
1.A huge beam of light radiates towards the sky from each skyshard. This makes them extremely easy to spot from a distance – just make sure you look up often.
2.Hints to finding each skyshard can be found in your achievements log. Open up the quest journal and click on the achievements tab in the top right and look for skyshards. You will find a hint to finding every skyshard in every zone in that journal.
