The ElderScrolls Online Has Transformed for Xbox One & PS4

Elder Scrolls Online was released for the PC a little over a year ago. Its reception was lukewarm at best, with the likes of Gamespot and Polygon awarding the game a 6/10, with rare review scores in and around the 8 mark. Aside from some of its more glaring issues, such as boring quests and a poor reward system, ESO was filled with bugs, glitches, dupe glitches and more, all of which was locked behind a monthly subscription.

A year later, it's pretty amazing to see how much a game can change. Elder Scrolls Online will soon arrive for the XBOX One and PS4, and for those that have never played it before, they'll be getting a much better game than those who've been there since the beginning. Elder Scrolls Online may actually work a lot better on its console release date.

For those that have engaged with ESO since its PC release date on April 4th, 2014, they'll have surely seen how much this title has changed - provided they didn't give up on it early on (which not a lot of people wouldn't have blamed them for). Now that the Xbox One and PS4 versions promise an excellent version of the MMORPG, even PC owners are enticed to play this Elder Scrolls title on their home consoles.

In its initial form, Elder Scrolls Online was not a game I could have recommended to anyone, purely due the devastating nature of its costs. The game was ridiculously expensive, not just for the initial price and the subscription fee though - in-game items such as horses would require tens of hours of saving funds in Summerset Isles, or you could just throw a few extra dollars at the screen to get the horse right away.

ZeniMax Online had an awful system for taking players money in place, and it's still a bit of an issue with Elder Scrolls Online. But there were serious issues with its Veteran Level system that players complained about from the outset. However, a major fix for this has been rolled out since November 2014, and the final fix will arrive later this year, which will finally eradicate Veteran Levels entirely and replace them with Champion points. Thankfully, PS4 and Xbox One owners will get this from day one!

There have also been great changes to the combat system, with even the battle animations being upgraded! Zenimax have put in a lot of hours into fixing ESO (granted they got enough money from the community that they owe it to them to fix the game) and hopefully the PS4 and Xbox One won't see any of the glaring glitch issues and such that plagued the game on its PC release date.

But don't just take my word for it, the The Elder Scrolls Online community has been singing its praises ever since ZeniMax countered the majority of the game's initial issues. And seriously, with the subscription fees now a thing of the past for the Xbox One and PS4, this game will become one that you have to try on its release date!

Elder Scrolls Online will get its release date for the Xbox One and PS4 on June 9th, 2015.
