The Elder Scrolls Online offers countless ways to customize your character, from gear combinations and skill setups to Champion Points and class builds. However, switching between different playstyles used to require a lot of manual changes. Players had to reset attributes, replace equipment, adjust skills, and reorganize their Champion Points every time they wanted to try a new role.

However, the ESO Armory System completely changes this process by allowing players to save and quickly switch between different character builds.

What Is the ESO Armory System?

The Armory System is a character build management feature that allows players to save customized setups and load them whenever needed. With the Armory Station, players can store almost every important part of their character configuration, including:

1. Attributes (Health, Magicka, and Stamina)
2. Equipped weapons and armor
3. Skills, Morphs, and Passives
4. Champion Point selections
5. Quick Slot items such as food and potions
6. Poisons
7. Outfit appearance
8. Vampire or Werewolf status
9. Build name and icon

This makes it much easier to maintain different setups, such as a DPS build for PvE, a Tank build for group content, or a PvP-focused setup.

How to Unlock and Use the Armory Station?

The Armory Station is available to all ESO players through the Crown Store. To start using the system, players need to:

1. Open the Crown Store.
2. Find the free Armory Station Furnishing under the Furniture section.
3. Claim the item and place it inside a player-owned house.
4. Interact with the Armory Station to save or load character builds.

Once placed in a home, the Armory Station allows players to quickly switch builds whenever they return to that location. For players who want access outside their homes, the Armory Assistant provides a more flexible option.

How Many Builds Can Be Saved?

Each character receives two free Armory Slots by default. These slots allow players to save two different builds and switch between them whenever needed. Players can purchase up to eight additional Armory Slots from the Crown Store, increasing the maximum to 10 saved builds per character.

Important note: Armory Slots are not shared between characters. Each character has their own separate build slots.

What Can an Armory Build Save?

When players save a build, the Armory System records many important character details, including:

1. Character Setup
2. Build name
3. Custom build icon
4. Attributes
5. Skills and Morphs
6. Passive abilities
7. Champion Points
8. Equipment Setup
9. Weapons
10. Armor
11. Jewelry
12. Outfit style
13. Quick Slot items
14. Potions and food
15. Poisons
16. Character Choices
17. Vampire or Werewolf transformation status

The system automatically restores these settings when loading a saved build, making it possible to switch roles in just a few seconds.

ESO Armory Assistant Restrictions

The Armory Assistant works similarly to other ESO assistants, such as the Banker or Merchant. After purchasing it from the Crown Store, players can access their saved builds almost anywhere in Tamriel. However, there are some restrictions. The Armory Assistant cannot be used in certain competitive areas, including:

PvE Trials and Arenas with leaderboards
Cyrodiil
Imperial City
Battlegrounds

In addition, when saving or loading a build, required equipment must be inside your character’s inventory. Items stored in your bank, storage chests, or other locations cannot be automatically equipped. If an item is missing, the Armory System will skip that item and display it in red on the build screen.

Last, the current Armory System does not save Mundus Stone choices. If your different builds require different Mundus Stones, you will need to manually change them after loading your build.

The Armory System is one of the most useful quality-of-life features added to The Elder Scrolls Online. It saves players time and removes the frustration of manually rebuilding characters for different activities.

Whether you enjoy solo adventures, dungeon groups, PvP battles, or experimenting with new classes, the Armory System allows you to prepare multiple setups and switch between them quickly.
