After extensive testing of the class changes introduced with Update 50, the ESO Update 51 DPS meta is becoming much clearer. With so many powerful gear options available, however, choosing the right sets can still be difficult, especially for players who don't have access to every meta item.

For Update 51, several sets stand out because of their damage, versatility, or simply how easy they are to obtain. Here are the top options for players looking to improve their DPS in 12-player trial content.

1. Perfected Slither's of Nolakha

At the top of the list is Perfected Slither's of Nolakha from Lucent Citadel.

The set combines Critical Chance, Minor Slayer, Weapon and Spell Damage, and a powerful proc effect. Although its damage is focused on a single target, that limitation is less significant in Update 51 because extremely high single-target DPS allows many encounters to be completed without heavily relying on traditional AoE setups. Its strong overall bonuses make it one of the most reliable choices for optimized boss encounters.

2. Mora's Whispers

Mora's Whispers has steadily become a stronger option after several changes and is now one of the most competitive sets for optimized raid groups.

The set scales with the number of Major and Minor buffs active on the player, increasing Critical Chance and Critical Damage. It is especially valuable in organized groups because it can help reduce the need for other critical-damage support sets. It is also particularly strong on classes that naturally maintain additional buffs as part of their standard rotation.

3. Advancing Yokeda

Advancing Yokeda remains an excellent non-trial option and is particularly popular on Nightblade builds.

The set provides a substantial amount of Critical Chance through consistent Light Attacks. While it is generally considered a single-target option, it can still perform well in AoE situations when its effects can be maintained.

4. Caspain's Cruel Sigil

Caspain's Cruel Sigil is a powerful trial set for encounters where AoE damage is important. It has become one of the better choices for dealing with additional enemies during boss fights.
