Dragon Bones, the next DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online, will be released on February 12th on PC and Mac and on February 27th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will be accompanied by a free update, the Update 17.

ZeniMax announced that this update will bring important changes to the game's combat system. These changes, which will affect both PvE and PvP, are designed to emphasize smart teamwork and tactical play.

First of all the Ability Synergies will be clearer and have "visual indicator" that will show their effects and cooldowns, with some skills that have been fixed or buffered.

Furthermore, the AOE damage limits (by area) will be abolished, thus stimulating the groups to spread more. Blocking will be easier thanks to reduced Stamina Block Cost and Block Cost enchantments, while PvP movement speed penalty will be reduced to "better support the fast pace of the battle."

Finally, Heavy Attacks will no longer remove the bosses' Off Balance debuff: in other words, bosses will lose their balance after a Heavy Attack. As a result, players will have more than half a second to plan their next move in the boss fight.

In short, these are quite important changes to the combat system that will probably change the goal heavily, hopefully for the better.
